Happy New Year
The Provincial Grand Master, RW Bro David Macey, and his wife Sandra hosted both the newly appointed and outgoing acting Provincial Officers at the annual Pre-Season Supper, held at the Clarendon Suites, Edgbaston.
During his welcome the PGM thanked all the ladies present for allowing their partners to participate in the Provincial programme, hoping this very special role brought particular enjoyment to them all. He introduced senior members of the Province, and thanked the outgoing officers for their support, asking them to pass on the benefit of their experience to their successors.
Attending Lodge Installations and Special Meetings as well as Provincial events, as part of the Provincial Team, provides a plethora of different experiences and all acting officers are encouraged to enjoy as many of these as possible. Team members would on every occasion be treated with the greatest respect and should expect to see many thought provoking ideas which could be taken back to their respective lodges.
Various matters of protocol and administration were outlined, with a great deal of information being available from the Provincial website. Particular reference was made to the Warwickshire Installed Masters’ Lodge 4538 whose prestigious programme had resulted in accolades from the United Grand Lodge of England, with the Deputy Grand Master visiting the Lodge on 30th November 2012.
Following the PGM’s informative and lively presentation, which included reference to the Ladies’ Gift Fund 60th Christmas Fayre on 17th November 2012 (see What’s On), the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, VW Bro Alan Wellan, thanked the PGM for his tremendous enthusiasm, which everyone should all thoroughly enjoy sharing, and expressed the appreciation everyone had for his energy and leadership.
