Grand Lodge has recommended that all Provinces put in place a mentoring scheme to encourage an immediate link between recruits and the benefits of Lodge membership. Our Provincial Grand Master has mandated a Warwickshire scheme to ensure new members integrate quickly and feel valued as a full member of their Lodge. It will also help us to manage attrition by building enthusiasm for the Craft, enhancing effective Masonic learning and maximising Masonic enjoyment.

There are a number of important documents about Mentoring available, one of which is a talk, which can be read in open Lodge or preferably presented to the Lodge by one of the Provincial Mentoring team in order that questions can be asked and answers given or sought. These documents are available here ...

Following on from Stuart's roadshow of presentations and visits to Lodges to talk about the benefits of the scheme, he recognises that Lodge members may need support in the role. He has therefore created a new workshop for would-be mentors to learn these important skills. Details of workshops to be held will be published on the What's On page of the website, and interested parties should contact the Provincial Office by email to ensure they receive notification when workshops are being held.

Stuart will be pleased to hear from Brethren with a background in tertiary education or exposure to management development as a facilitator, to act as Regional Mentors and support him in taking the message directly into Lodges. He is also seeking to establish a contact in every Lodge to act as the Mentoring Co-ordinator, who will co-ordinate the matching of Mentors to Mentees in their own Lodge and receive new information on training dates etc.
