Bro John Sheath had the delightful privilege of being installed into the Master’s Chair of the Warden Lodge 794 by his father, W Bro Alan Sheath, ably assisted by the Installing Master, W Bro Brian Allely.  With an existing Entered Apprentice, plus a potential candidate in the wings, the new Master can look forward to an eventful year!

At the Festive Board, a special appeal was made on behalf of Georgia, the granddaughter of the catering manager, Walter Richardson, at the Mill Street Temple. Georgia, aged 13, is currently undergoing Chemotherapy treatment for cancer and the appeal was made towards funding patient activities.  A total of £440 was raised from the assembled 51 Brethren.  The Provincial Grand Master, RW Bro David Macey congratulated the Brethren on their response and undertook to provide an identical sum from Provincial Charity Funds.

Georgia is being supported by the Teenage Cancer Trust. This national Charity builds specialist units in NHS hospitals which improve the quality of life and chances of survival for young people with cancer. Details of their work can be seen here

Other Lodges meeting at Mill Street Masonic Hall are supporting this splendid cause and to date have contributed over £3,400, as reported in the latest (Spring 2013) edition of our Grand Lodge House Magazine “Freemasonry Today”
