Provincial Grand Lodge of Warwickshire

Haig Housing is coordinating a walk from 6 to 11 November to honour, 100 years on, the many who gave their lives during World War One.

They are now recruiting 100 Veterans and Serving Personnel to walk the 100 miles from the Menin Gate in Ypres to the Cenotaph in Whitehall for the National Service of Remembrance. They are also looking for hosts who can accommodate pairs of walkers across the 3 nights in Kent, as well as recruiting other volunteers and sponsors.

Can you help?

Walkers need to be able to undertake 25 miles a day across 4 consecutive days and commit to complete this. Serving personnel will complete the walk in civilian capacity. All those participating will be fully supported, accommodated, fed and watered throughout - but they do need walkers to commit to fundraising towards a personal target (£1000 or ideally, £1918). Haig Housing are also hoping to find a significant number of corporate and other sponsors, each one of which will commit to supporting each Walker and contributing at least £500 towards their own fundraising target.

Full details, including application forms can be found on the Walk's website at www.tlwh.org.uk
