A Matched Funding Scheme is operated by the Freemasons' Grand Charity, which will match donations to a charity nominated by a Province, to which the Province has already made donations during the current year. The Acorns Hospice received a donation of £5000 in February 2013 from Provincial funds, which the Grand Charity agreed to match.
Twelve Provinces in total have been invited to nominate a charity to receive up to £5000 under the operation of the Matched Funding Scheme.
The Provincial Grand Master was delighted when the Grand Charity agreed to our request, particularly as Acorns is one of the charities featuring in his “Famous Five”, as was W Bro David Butcher, Chairman of the Trustees of the Acorns Children’s Hospice Trust, when he received the donation on behalf of the Acorns organisation.
