FastAid is a local charity formed in late 2005, which equips and organises training for Community First Responders (CFRs).
FastAid are willing and ready to provide the Province with our requirements for Defibrillator training and refresher courses for which they are ideally qualified. As a charity, they do not charge for this service, but are wholly dependent on donations.
I was fortunate to be invited to attend the presentation on 17th October of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Award for voluntary service groups in the community 2016. The charity as a whole received the award from the Deputy Lord Lieutenant David Bradnock, MBE,JP,DL, who also presented individual awards to many volunteers FastAiders. Two of our own Warwickshire members received individual awards – W Bro Jeffrey Way and W Bro Stuart Jenkins. It was good to see quite a number of members of the Province present at the ceremony.
Their website - http://www.fastaid.org.uk/home/ - gives far more information than I can manage, but I would like to invite nominations/volunteers to attend defibrillator/CPR courses which are being organised now at the Yenton Assembly Rooms to contact me so that dates can be arranged. If the demand is sufficient, courses will be arranged at other locations.
