The Warwickshire Masonic Caravanning Society (WMCS), is holding its Annual General Meeting and lunch on Sunday 21st February 2016. The lunch will be held at Kings Court Hotel, Alcester B49 5QQ at 12:30pm for a 1:00pm start and the AGM is at 3:00pm. WMCS is your Provincial Club open to all who camp with a caravan, tent or motorhome.  The club welcomes all ages not to mention well behaved dogs.  WMCS has a full rally programme for 2016 with the emphasis on fun!  You would be made most welcome at the rallies which are held in and around the Province of Warwickshire.
As the WMCS is an affiliated club we have an annual subscription cost of £10. Included in this cost is a levy of £5 for the Masonic Caravan Club of England and Wales (MCCEW). The MCCEW is the National Masonic camping body to which other Masonic clubs belong.  It provides our insurance and rally licence.  You will automatically belong to the MCCEW which means you are entitled to join any Masonic Caravanning Club or Society at their rallies, the MCCEW also holds rallies abroad.

The Famous Five - part two

In addition to the recent donation to the Birmingham Children's Hospital,
the Famous Five supports St Mary’s Collegiate Church, Warwick

St Mary's Collegiate Church, Warwick
Presented in the same week as the donation to Birmingham Children's Hospital was a donation of £7,500 to St Mary’s Collegiate Church Warwick, by VW Bro Alan Wellan.  The vicar kindly asked that the presentation should be done in public, so during the Choral Matins service VW Bro Alan briefly addressed the large congregation. He stated that our links with the church go back to 1728 when the stonemasons who had worked in Warwick after the Great Fire formed a Freemasons Lodge based at the Woolpack Hotel, and the vicar at the time was the first Master, with a church warden appointed as an officer of the Lodge.

Reference was also made to the pulpit which was donated in 1897 and the Madonna and Child stone carving that was funded by Warwickshire masons and placed in position on the exterior of the East wall of the Beauchamp Chapel earlier this year.   Thus our valued link with the church continues.  The vicar, Rev Dr Vaughan Roberts expressed his gratitude and unusually in church, there was spontaneous applause.  The picture clearly shows the pulpit referred to by VW Bro Wellan. Much more can be discovered about St Mary’s at

These donations and others previously published have been raised through the Provincial Grand Master’s “Famous Five” initiative, which has now raised over £80,000 and is still receiving splendid support from the Freemasons of Warwickshire.
