PROVINCIAL INITIATIVES

2023 FESTIVAL

THE WARWICKSHIRE 2023 FESTIVAL

Since launching in April 2016, the MCF continues to provide a wide range of support for Freemasons, their families and the wider community to encourage opportunity, promote independence and improve wellbeing. The consolidation has meant more efficient processes have been established, ensuring that more of your money goes directly to recipients and that it does so in a timely manner. The MCF has given significant funding, both nationally and in Warwickshire, to Brethren and their families, and to excellent charities we all love and like to support. Commencing in January 2018, the Festival is running for a period of 5 years. I have no doubt that the Brethren of the Province, supported by their friends and families will rise to the challenge. At the Festival's culmination in 2023, I am sure that we will be able to announce that we have again achieved a magnificent total and will be able to celebrate in true Warwickshire fashion. My aim for the next 5 years is to ensure that everyone gets involved. Whilst we will use many tried and trusted means of raising funds, let us also find new ways and new events to ensure that all our Brethren, their families and friends participate, contribute and have fun. In closing, I would like to ask you all to get behind this Festival as Brethren, as Lodges and as Masonic meeting places. Until 2023, let us make the MCF our ‘charity of choice’. RW Bro David F Macey, Provincial Grand Master

LET'S TALK

LET'S TALK

Let us introduce to you Warwickshire’s very own Let’s Talk Team, led by W Bro David Stanford PSGD AProvGM the Team is made up of brethren from across the Province and also across the age and experience spectrum of our Province.

The team has already been out meeting the public at a number of events this year. They are well equipped with a fully branded Gazebo and an array of useful information display panels not to mention the balloons (for the children of course!).

The band of brethren have been enlisted to go out into the public and encourage people to talk openly about Freemasonry and in particular Freemasonry within our leading and forward thinking Province. The hope being of changing perceptions, encouraging positive conversation and spreading the word about all of the great things we do. This coupled with how Freemasonry can be seen to be relevant to today’s society, inclusive and a worthwhile organisation that can help men aspire and develop.
So far the team has visited Acorns Children’s Hospice Charity for their 30th Anniversary fete, a fresher’s fair at Birmingham University and the Sutton Coldfield Expo. Feedback from these events has been great and they have been able to dispel some myths, open some eyes and have even had enquiries to become Freemasons!

We would like to know if you or your Lodge has a special event in the public domain, a community event that you are supporting or even a suggestion for an event that you think Warwickshire Freemasons should be present at? All they will need is a contact/details and they will do the rest! Please look out for the team who will be at events in the community sporting our new branded clothing and saying to the public #LetsTalk. Targeted for this year is the Stratford River Festival, opposite the Royal Shakespeare Theatre on Saturday July 6th and Sunday 7th July. Last year this event attracted 70,000 over the weekend. Come and meet the team.

If you would like to get in touch with the team please do so through W Bro David Stanford on david@defraine.com

LODGE SUPPORT TEAM

THE LODGE SUPPORT TEAM

The Provincial Lodge Support Team offers support to Lodges in the Province who are in need of assistance. The members of the Team regularly assist in ceremonies, fill offices and deliver large pieces of Masonic ritual. They also help wherever possible in supporting Lodges that are low in numbers but which are still able to conduct their work themselves. Being in the Team also opens up opportunities for members to gain experience of our ceremonies and make daily advancements in their Masonic knowledge by visiting Lodges where different ceremonies, lectures and demonstrations are being performed. Members of the Team range from Entered Apprentices to senior Provincial and Grand Officers all of whom voluntarily give of their time. Members also pay for their own meals when dining, so there is no cost to any Lodge that asks for help. If a Lodge is in need of help, or if anyone wishes to enquire about becoming a member of the Support Team then please contact W Bro Mike Midgley who will be happy to advise further. Mike can be contacted via his email midgleyzskk@blueyonder.co.uk or phone 07850 193073
